Description

Clairefontaine Pastelmat Sheets are a trusted medium for the pastel market, supplied as loose 50x70cm sheets in a 360gsm professional surface, developed specifically for intensive pastel work and finished artworks.
The unique Pastelmat surface grips pigment exceptionally well, allowing artists to build multiple layers of pastel without saturation and without needing fixative between layers.
With a texture coarser than velour yet softer than sandpaper, Pastelmat delivers strong control while remaining comfortable to work on.
The paper retains its original properties when erased or worked wet, supporting techniques using water or alcohol without affecting texture or surface strength.
Acid free and pH neutral, the sheets are suitable for archival-quality artwork and long-term preservation.
